[Carole] Vasta Folley found inspiration for her play from a news story her husband showed her in USA Today. The brief, five sentence, article was about a caregiver who kept her patient's death a secret for over two years while the patient's daughter and granddaughter lived downstairs. Although shocked by the story, it made Vasta Folley speculate if there was a possible "good" reason to commit such an egregious act. What followed was a crazy situational comedy with plenty of secrets and memorable characters. In addition, Vasta Folley notes, "I wrote this play while dealing with my own mother's passing, so the real feelings of losing a parent naturally became part of the unusual storyline. My caregiver actions are driven by compassion and love, albeit on the bumpy road of comedy. My mother would have liked that."
